"Everyday and everywhere, our children spread their dreams beneath our feet and we should tread softly.."
~Sir Ken Robinson

We made a big decision this year to move Ezra to a new Waldorf inspired public school in September. I struggled with it all year and to this day I am still not sure if it's the right thing to do for our family. Our local school has a great reputation and with a strong parent community, a new playground, dedicated teachers and a wonderful and involved new principal, many of my peers do not understand why I would want to move him. Last year I came across Sir Ken Robinson on Ted Talks speaking about the importance of nurturing creativity in our children's education. It was life changing for me. I was saddened that I never had that type of education and motivated to find an alternative for my kids. Seeing this again gives me strength in my convictions. If you have a few minutes give it a listen. He is a wonderful, funny and inspiring speaker.

  3. I almost forgot about the lack of outdoor play. That was a huge turn off for me.
